Tapes and Sticks are the answer for simple and reliable tank gauging in applications where there is no power or hazardous areas where you want to avoid bringing in electrical systems.
Tapes: Often referred to as Dip Tapes, are used to provide manual indication of liquid levels in drums or tote tanks. To use, simply unscrew the dust cap, pull out the tape until it couples with the float, and take a reading. When done, push the tape back down and replace the dust cap. Tape level indicators, or TLU’s may be used in pressure vessels or in hazardous locations and have the advantage of being able to be bent to obtain readings when installed in a lower tote in a “stacked” position.
Sticks: Using the same principles as a tape, yet the stick is rigid and can be set to “ride” with the changing liquid level. Stick indicators, or TSI’s use larger floats to provide the lifting power for the lightweight sticks. TSI’s can be provided with .25” graduations, metric graduations or reflective colored bands for “at a glance” readings.
All Tapes and Sticks are available in countless sizes in Stainless Steel, Brass, PVC and Poly Pro.
